Alan D'Ambrosio
Founder & Managing Director

Alan is Founder and Managing Director of CIA Excel Group and is responsible for the overseeing of Group services as well as the Group's office locations in Hamilton, Belfast and the City in London. He is also responsible for policy and the direction of the business. Alan remains heavily involved in the overseeing of the core service of surveillance and is close to the Insurance market. 

Alan started out his career in the Investigation business some 20 years ago working for an Investigation Agency, where he immersed himself in all areas of the business before he then decided to set up business in his own right in 1989.

Over the next few years Alan grew the business founded on the principle of providing a quality professional service at a reasonable price. As the business became more successful, Alan started to focus on developing niche areas of the business including surveillance. With a desire to be the best, he invested in experienced full time personnel and state of the art equipment. With this capability he attracted a number of insurance companies and the business became the largest supplier of surveillance services in the private sector in Scotland.

On the back of this success and supported by several insurance companies Alan commenced the Group's Northern Ireland operation in 1998. Initially a mirror image of the Scottish operation with surveillance as the core service, Alan and senior management also diversified the business into closely related niche markets including counter surveillance for the cash and valuables in transit industry, close protection and security risk management.

In 2002 Alan realised that technology and technical capability were playing a larger part in the way that investigation results could be achieved. As a result, Bob Carrigan joined the company as Technical Director and a large capital investment was made to ensure that the Group could deliver to clients from a technical perspective. The Group then had an in-house technical capability second to none in the UK.

As a result of this technical capability in 2007 Alan launched the use of Technical Vehicle Video Cars as an added value to insurers with whom the Group has service level agreements with. This is a pioneering commitment to service level clients to provide the service throughout the entire UK. This had effectively followed on from the Group's increased involvement in the English market where the business had achieved contracts to operate throughout the UK

In 2007 Alan secured the services, and the Group was joined by Mike Bluestone, Director of Security Consulting. At this time Alan committed to a long held ambition, and the Group's City of London office was opened.
