Hugh is a Diplomate of the International Institute of Security and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from the University of South West England.
Hugh has over 30 years operational experience in the security sector, firstly as a police officer operating in a uniformed anti-terrorist unit, supporting local police and military units in public order situations. After a distinguished career in the police Hugh became involved in the leisure hospitality industry responsible for the overrall security of several sites throughout the UK and some 6000 individuals. Hugh then furthered his career by moving to work in London for a several Blue chip companies where he was resposible for the security and training in 32 stores in the South East of England. Hugh, then keen to return to his native Northern Ireland, took up a post with a multi national drinks company where he was responsible for the overrall security of 4 sites within Northern Ireland.
Throughout all of the above Hugh immersed himself further in the world of training becoming more qualified and gaining further experience by training numerous corporates and governments in loss prevention and security management.
During this period Hugh became associated with CIA Excel Group and through his commitment to training eventually became responsible for the centre approvals and accreditation of courses run by the Group. Hugh now as Principal, has responsibility for the running of the CIA Excel Group Centre of Security Excellence. In addition he is currently undertaking the Cert.Ed and will be delivering Conflict Management Training at the new Belfast Metropolitan College.
