Mike has held senior positions in security management having been the Head of Security for the CST for five years. With a masters degree in Security Management awarded by Loughborough University, Mike is an Associate of the Loughborough University Business School's Security Faculty. Mike has made several presentations to the university's post graduate security faculty and alumni on issues relating to global security management and the recruitment of security managers.
Mike has pioneered security management training and security awareness courses for both security and non-security personnel and in 2005 founded the Central Academy of Security Excellence (CASE) now part of the MITIE Group.

During Mike's career, he has advised numerous corporations in both the public and private sectors on a range of security and risk related issues, including the drafting of security policy and strategy documents and carrying out numerous security audits and surveys. Mike is HM Government Security Cleared and has provided security training courses for a number of HM Government departments.
Mike is a regular guest broadcaster on BBC Television and Radio and is the author of over thirty published articles on corporate security and related topics.
Mike has been a judge for the prestigious UK Security Excellence Awards and was appointed a judge for the SITO National Training Awards 2004.
Mike has lectured at The American Intercontinental University in London and has made numerous presentations at a range of security seminars and conferences including IFSEC & Intersec. In 2004 Mike was a guest speaker at the Intersec security conference where he spoke on UK Homeland Security & Intelligence Gathering.
Mike is also the approved trainer in Security Management for the British Institute of Facilities Management.
With a career in security management, investigations and training spanning over 18 years, Mike joined CIA Excel Group in 2007 as their City of London based Director of Security Consulting.
